MONA films & photos – Milada Koutníková

I’m Milada Koutníková and in Libeň I create natural family photographs and poetic family films. My work is driven by the wish to capture what’s hard to describe in words — a child’s laughter, the quiet connection between parents, the small rituals of a day at home. I photograph and film so the result becomes an authentic document of your family, not an artificially arranged pose. My approach is quiet, observational and sensitive. I aim to keep interventions to a minimum: I lead gentle conversation, help ease moments, but leave room for spontaneous interactions. With experience photographing children and babies, I know how to build a safe, playful atmosphere where kids feel comfortable and behave naturally. I shoot at home or outdoors — wherever you feel most at ease — and often the most powerful images come from everyday life. As a complement to photography, I also create short family films, which are a heartfelt part of my work. Film adds sound and motion to the picture — laughter, voices, small gestures — giving your memories additional depth. If you choose a family film, family photographs are automatically included: the two formats work naturally together and give you a comprehensive keepsake of your family. I also offer the option to preserve your story in a photobook — a tactile archive of emotions you can hold and pass on. Beyond shoots and films, I share my know-how through photo courses focused on photographing children and babies; I run these workshops as a side project to help others discover the subtlety of natural photography. I work from quiet enthusiasm — I’m a “full‑time mama” and a night owl — and I shape my work so the results tell your story with kindness and truth.
